friday started lats with db pullovers...only 80lbs after warmup for my work set...happened at rep 3 or 4 and going for 15, so kinda light...popped loud2-3 pops on top of each other and i dumped the weight right away...finished my back/bi workout but very light and no stretch movements and squeeze type only....no bruising til sunday when i iced it...

Oh man... What motions, if any, are painful? Could easily be the Infraspinatous or Teres Minor....depending on symptoms of course but judging by the location of the hematoma and the exercise you were doing i'd put my money on one or both of them....
Itd hard to tell in the pics bc im using a phone, but is there bruising on your elbow as well?Last edited by Jpotch; 06-25-2012 at 09:29 PM.

2-3 pops happened simulataneous in the stretched position of the pullover...i was able to complete very lightly hammer pulldowns, hammer rows, hammer shrugs, bb curls, hammer curls on friday after it happened...my thinking too based on the dark part of the bruise being horizontal and up so high is that it's teres also...i can bend my arm when in curl position about 90 degrees but when raise straight to the ceiling only 20-30 degrees...the bruising near the elbow is simply from the lymph fluid and plasma buildup i'm sure and stretching the skin...it actually feels better today than yesterday yet looks worse today lol...i'm a radiography student so i'm somewhat knowledgeable on things, but obviously no expert...also holding the gelpack under my arm by just squeezing it closed to hold it and not using other arm, i can feel a slight pierce in the rear delt tie in area but deep and not superficial
if you look in member's pic you'll see more pics of the injury from saturday and sunday

That sux bo. hope you heal fast but, I fckn love DB pullovers as a finsher on back day. I have always done them and always will. NOTHING gets my lats as sore as DB pullovers. I know it's supose to be a chest exercise, but I have never felt in my chest. Honestly, my favorite back movement!!!!!. But I really do feel for you bro...

better ROM today...swelling is going down...bruising is lighter color on inside tri today, but up high/inside is still tender to touch it...was able to push away from table in chair on two legs today without pain but it does feel like i did a super high volume tri workout and there's nothing left in the tank lol...

I started doing these on the cable pulldown machine instead of doing the DB pullovers. We also have a machine for pullovers as well, this definitely makes me not want to do DB pullovers

well it looks like the bruising made it look alot worse than it really was...alot of broken vessels...swelling is gone completely...i'm able to bend it almost completely again too...still blood and bruising from real delt to wrist, but it's fading quickly the last couple days...the original black dot that showed immediately is gone too...i'll be back lifting next week

there's still something not right in the shoulder joint...i can't do certain movements even after warmups...
i no longer do cross bench dumbell pullovers...i learned a great alternative that i do as finishing movement or pre exhaust depending on how i'm training that day...stiff arm pulls with rope attachment...got the idea from article on mark dugdale

I greatly prefer the straight arm pull downs over pullovers. I feel a much better stretch and all around better feeling

Decline bench pull overs are a lot safer and a better all around development and stretch........one of my favorite exercises, back day or chest.

I'm not sure why I didnt notice this before, but you are allowed to upgrade your phone to a non flip phone and get an Android or an iPhone. It is the year 2013 and the Star Tac is a bit dated. Just saying...LOL. JFWY
How ya healing?
