The MLB All-Star Game proved to be Manny Machado’s final game representing the Baltimore Orioles. According to Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Passan, Machado is headed to the Los Angeles Dodgers in MLB’s first blockbuster deal of the summer.
The Orioles will reportedly receive five players in the deal.
Machado, 25, has not seemed the least bit distracted despite the trade rumors that have swirled around him for the last year. He’s putting up his typical All-Star level production this season, hitting .315/.387/.575 with 24 home runs, 65 RBIs and eight stolen bases.
The Dodgers are replacing shortstop Corey Seager, who is out for the season following Tommy John surgery. They are currently half a game ahead of Arizona in the National League West division.
