With Garrit Cole on the mound at home, the Houston Astros were heavy favorites to win game one of the World Series last night. But, the Washington Nationals, playing in their first World Series game ever, had other ideas. The Nats homered in the 2nd and 4th innings and strung together a few hits in the 5th to jump out to a 5-2 lead. George Springer homered in the 7th and doubled in a run in the 8th to close it to 5-4, but that was all the Astros could manage.

Game Two is tonight and will feature Justin Verlander against Stephen Strasburg in another great pitching matchup.
