Is a crimper essential?

Hello,
I am looking to purchase some vials along with oils,ba,bb etc... to make my first brew of injectables (Test E.).
My question is this, is a crimper absolutely essential? If I purchase sterilized vials, is it essential to have a crimper to open it and then seal it? Can you easily open crimped vials without one then seal it? If so, how?
My expenses has been WAY to high this month and I can't really afford it at present. Got to stick to my budget. Damn crimpers are friggin expensive!

Thanks!

you don't need to buy a crimper. in order to make your own stuff you need 1 vial NOT sealed or crimped to mix everything up in, and 1 sealed&crimped vial to filter the final product into.

Excellent, so a crimper is not necessary.
A few more noobie questions just so I can be sure before buying. :D
Are the crimped vials(for the finished product) easy to open, without crimper? What methods do you use to keep the vials sealed?
Thanks again!

Flexmaster, your great post is still not a sticky?! :nope:

You don't need to purchase sealed vials or a crimper. You can just buy the rubber stoppers and caps seperatley, and sterilize your bottles with 'heat' - methlyalcohol, and some heat i.e oven or microwave and stoppers by putting them in an alcohol bath untill ready to be used. To seal on the stoppers with caps, simply use a pair of needle nose pliers - I don't open them but use the smooth tapered 'needle nose' to bend down the metal of the cap around the neck of the glass vial. This takes about a minute to do - you just slowly work your way around, then smooth it all out by applying fim pressure - you'll figure it out, and it sure saves the expence of a pair of crimpers and you end up with a pretty professional looking product in the end that is sealed and ready for use by someone else if that is what you have in mind

-I'll try and attach a pic of a bottle that was done using this method so you can see what it looks like...

yeah, they are easy to open. but you have to break the cap so you can't re-use it to seal it up again. why do you want to open a sealed vial? all you need to make your own product is 1 vial not sealed or crimped to mix your product, and one sterile sealed vial to filter the final product into. you shouldn't need to open the final vial for any reason.
