Anyone make a successful solution or suspension? I would like to do a 5 or 10mg per ml.
thanks
I am a Respiratory Therapist, and I have many things to reply to on this thread.
First, Albuterol is a strong Beta 2 adrenergic, the only symptoms that it will relieve is if your shortness of breath is based on smooth muscle constriction, or inflammation of the airway. If your shortness of breath is due to cardiac reasons (like your heart can't keep up during your workout because you are pushing yourself to your limit), then albuterol will not help in any way.
Second, there are two main side effects of albuterol. Being that it is a minor Alpha 1 adrenergic, it will increase your heart rate, something I highly do not recommend if you are already having a very increased heart rate due to heavy exercise. It also will slowly decrease your body's Potassium, which is essential for electrical conductivity of the heart.
Third, if you are still adamant to due such, albuterol is usually in a 2.5mg per 3ml saline solution for therapist of the respiratory system, and 10ml is commonly used in a hospital for potassium reduction therapies.
Again, as a medical professional (though not an MD) I HIGHLY do not recommend taking this drug unless you are doing it to relieve the symptoms that albuterol was designed to relieve, and taking the appropriate dose for those symptoms. Only an MD can diagnose you with asthma or reactive airway disease. Please do not risk your heart health to try to work out for a couple more minutes.
