Best Pre Workout

Ok Brothers and Sisters, Time to get your input into this discussion.

I am not a huge pre workout fan, but have tried a lot of them over the years. IMO some of the best have been pulled off the market or re worked and not much anymore. Caffeine for me doesn’t matter as it take a lot to get me going. Having said that, what have you guys tried that has made a difference that you could tell?

Let’s get some good feedback guys!!

 
I’m not a fan either. The beta-alanine in most really gets under my skin but with that said I’ve tried lots and this stuff seems to be my favorite

Nitraflex by GAT is my go too when I need the extra boost

I’m not a fan of pre-workouts as the beta-alanine gives me the insane skin crawls. But I’ve tried a lot and NitraFlex by GAT does me the best and is my go too. Not too strong and gets me just right enough.

Jack3d was my fav! When reading the ingredients now it was only the DMAA in jack3d that actually did something and was good.
The dosages of all the other things are far to low to have any effect.

I used to spend a lot of money on PWO because I was lazy and thought that there was some kind of special mix/formula in them. But it's really simple.
I also know some of you guys are like me, lazy as hell.
One day I just started reading about it, looked at what my favorite pwo contained etc. What I found out is that you usually need 2 or even 3 doses to get up to the effective dose of the citrulline malate, beta alanine etc. But the caffeine is always dosed pretty high.
As bodybuilders/gym enthusiasts we like to control every single thing in our diet/drugs etc. so we can adjust it accordingly to what our bodies want and need.

There are 2 things making a PWO great and that is the stimulant and the vasodilator.

Caffeine is cheap, readily available and the most used drug in the world!
Citrulline malate (2:1) legal, available everywhere and it's in every single good pwo out there.
Another important thing that I've noticed I'm lacking in my diet is SALT!
I've started salting my food heavily and I even put some salt in my pwo shake.

These 2 ingredients are the base for a good PWO and all you need if you're broke.

Now if you have some extra money you can add stuff. Both legal and illegal.

If you guys want just let me know and I'll make a list and stack on how to mix your own pwo and what each compound does.
This is pretty much my stack right now, I change it all the time.

200-400mg caffaine
5-8g citrulline malate
4-6g beta alanine
2g taurine
2g l-tyrosine
1g iodized salt
 
I have sampled a few at my local gym and the new Dymatize is not bad.

I like the idea of making your own PWO, how much is the cost on making it?
 
I used nitaflex when I do use Pre-workout. But because I do like the beta alkaline I’d like to do what THX does and make my own

If you're looking for a good pump all you really need is beets and some citrulline malate. Better yet 5mg of cialis will do the trick. Try to avoid caffeine as it's a vasoconstrictor in most cases. Now if you just wanna go ape shit in the gym, eca wins hands down. Just my 2 cents..
 
I been using Universal Animal Fury, has 350 mg caffeine , if I dont hit that I just pop a 200mg caffeine capsule or drink some strong java

Bro can you elaborate some more on yr formula, like mix in cold water? I know B vitamins give me a boost as well

Been a bit busy so I've only logged in and checked some of the threads.
Yeah about 2dl of water. The citrulline malate is sour so salt neutralizes the sourness a bit.

What you also can do is to use flavoring, bcaa, eaa etc.

I'll make a new thread on how to make your own pwo. There are so many things you can have in your pwo mix.
As maj7900 said, some people just don't like the tingling. Just skip it. What I've read it does not make much of a difference anyway.
 
I just got a new pwo from a company called P4P. You guys remember pop rocks? I swear this stuff is just like that and taste like watermelon candy. Got some great pumps and very focused. Cannot wait to try it again this afternoon and hit chest and bi's.
 
The best value is Amino Energy. It is not as expensive as many others and gives a solid boost to your workout.

If I'm spending a little more though, Shotgun is my all time favorite. It used to be called N.O. Shotgun, but I think it's Shotgun 5X now.
 
Guys I used the new PWO I spoke of earlier and all I can say is wow. Clean energy, no crash and the pump was so out of this world that after 45 min of chest I was done. Such a hard pump that I could not even flex. I am sore this morning. Feels good for a old man.
 
So me being me, I did a scoop and a half and OMG. Will not be doing that again anytime soon. To much to soon.
 
I like sugar all day so I am usually loaded to the gills when I go in the gym. Music is the sensitive spot for me. Our gym here plays RB slow songs, can't get in to it.
