    Default Thyroid Update Info.

    theguerillachemist

Update: after 6 weeks at 100mcg/d, I had some blood work done to test my thyroid levels, including thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH). My TSH levels were NOT suppressed while taking GC-1, just like the research suggests. This is huge as it may be a viable option for competitors for fat loss instead of T3/T4. I also have stayed very lean without doing much cardio. Also, my HDL and LDL were some of the best they have ever been. As most of you guys know, thyroid hormone regulates the metabolism of proteins, fats, and carbs and affects body composition. It determines how "lean" you stay year around(we all have that one friend that eats way more than you and still has abs 24/7 @lawrenceballenger).

GC-1 is a thyroid hormone receptor(TRbeta) agonist "thyromimetic" (mimics thyroid hormone without being a hormone) that shows some very promising results in the way of fat loss, body comp, ect. Basically, GC-1 acts similarly as T3(thyroid hormone) in the body, but doesn't seem to cause suppression of TSH(thyroid stimulating hormone) levels, a side effect of supplementing with T3/T4/T2. What the studies have shown so far is that GC-1 can increase basal metabolic rate(and fat burning) without causing tachycardia, a side effect from T3. When compared head to head, T3 caused a slightly greater reduction in body weight vs GC-1, but both caused significant increases in energy expenditure and fat loss, while preventing fat mass accumulation.

Another benefit noticed with GC-1 was the sparing of bone mineral density, something that is reduced when taking T3. GC-1 recently has been shown to help turn white fat into brown fat. Brown fat is high in UCP-1, a protein that upregulates fat burning via uncoupling. The latest study in mice showed a 50% loss in fat mass in just 2 weeks, as well as a 6-fold improvement in insulin sensitivity. GC-1 (Sobetirome) is currently in Phase 1a clinical trials for its cholesterol lowering effects. Checkout @optimresearchinfo

    Great post, interesting....
I had contest and it was just a gig but had to try to win!!
I got down to 5.5-6% bf problem is comp ended June 25 I had TRT bloods due 2 weeks after and TSH AND FREE T4 TESTED.
My lipids were bad... free t4 was low and tst was low so was coming back it wasn't that low on free t4 and I was ripped to bone do Dr knew thyroid was ok....
Now lipids retesting mid Jan glucose was also 119 fasted 8 hours so that blew me too being on comeback... A1C been done too. Oops and my test was >1500.

My glucose fine on diabetic monitor it 84-94 after meal 1 hour and that's after 3-5iu hgh 1 before too. Non workout dose and food 1 hour later then test 1 hour after...
So it was thyroid suppression on way up not using fats carbs properly leaving blood levels high in lipids and glucose.

I knew better but contest ran too close. I did come in 1st. It was just transformation thing... not comp but I would of did great if it was real deal!!
