Where to Buy Protein Powders How to Store Supplements
I really only use one brand of protein powder, but my buddy will buy the cheapest he can find at the point he's looking. Do you guys typically buy the same brand everytime or just whatever has the best deal at the time?

Protein powder is dehydrated dairy no matter how you look at it . The thing that jacks the price is all the "bells and whistles" they throw in it and the money for marketing . If it's just str8 protein I often get it at Walmart or buy in bulk . Weight gainers lately are a little different . I really like the ones with waxy maize as the carb source than other sugars .. I know guys that spend a fortune a month on protein powders . I would rather use that money for real food ..

Lol, muscletech Nitrotech did the same shit to me also. I used to stack it with Cell Tech and granted I did gain some weight (I was in high school), but I was broke from the cost of it and my ass was chapped from all the wiping I had to do, just wasn't worth it

I totally disagree. That's like saying all cars are just four wheels and an engine, but we all know there's a difference between a Porsche and a Kia. There are multitudes of things that companies do when processing protein powders besides just dehydrate dairy. You really think the only difference between Wal-Mart protein and True Protein powders is the marketing and labeling?

That said .. I have recently tried a product a friend sent that I think is a way better product than the Walmart weight gainer by muscletech . I really have had some great success with " Monster Mass " .. Appropriately named on this "Hallows eve " . I have put on almost 20 pounds .
I still think " real food" is the way to go . Protein powder is only a resort when you can 't get enough food .. I would rather invest more money in AAS and eat better ..

I think you missed the analogy. I was comparing quality of protein to build quality of a car. Either way, you are way oversimplifying the process by which protein powder is made. And that's fine, you entitled to believe what you want. If I can dig up the podcast about protein powder in the archive of the show I listen to I'll post it, but suffice it to say, you don't just dehydrate dairy and put it in a tub. And if there is a $15 tub of protein and a $60 tube of protein, they sure as hell didn't use the same process to get the end product regardless of what "extras" or "additives" they claim to use.
Regardless, I agree real food is a better choice, protein powder is a last resort.pgb liked this post

I can tell you that you can get quality products for cheap if the company isn't into all the advertising and fancy marketing tactics. Some of these companies will use better ingredients, but there will also be a servere mark up once it hits the store. Take muscletech for example, if you could buy it directly from them, I will guarantee that it wouldn't be $30 for a 2lb tub (if that's even close to the price anymore). But some of these companies won't sell directly to the customer and we're forced to pay the markup to some degree, of course you can get it cheaper online than say at GNC as we all know they mark up everything ridiculously. But there is a difference between protein quality, it's just a matter of knowing what you want/need and what is in the tub you're buying
