How long did it take to feel good after starting TRT.
Hey guys, as the title says, How long did it take for you to feel "normal" or good after starting TRT. I'm on 9 weeks and still feel like crap, can't lose weight, tired all the time and developed a small case of gyno even tho Estradiol is low. I'm in touch with TRT doc and we are in the process of making adjustments but I'm just wondering how long this will take because I really feel like crap and am beginning to wonder if this is worth it. FYI, here is my protocol: 200mg Test Cyp/250iu hCG per week. AI discontinued after lab results showed estradiol was low.

Should have happened by now. I was feeling mine within 2-3 weeks and they say that it takes full effect within 5 weeks. If you are getting gyno already, the test is definitely there. They just need to give you something to fight the gyno, or you can get some anti-e or nolva bloat at the MuscleChemistry store to help. Also, they should check your blood to see where your levels are at and adjust them accordingly.

I was on an aromitase inhibitor but when my labs came back my estrogen was too low so they told me to come off. So I dont think anti-E or nolv will help.

yeah, sounds that way to me, especially with your hormone levels being taken care of through trt, and all the outside life influences you say are normal or ok. So i would venture to guess it may be a seratonin or dopamine type thing?
Maybe look into some OTC Neuro Boosters, or ask your doctor, he should certainly know their are other issues if you still feel this way at 9 weeks of test cyp, espeically considering 200mg a week is a solid trt dosage and should certainly yield positive mood elevations!
I truly hope you figure it out daddio! Im just taking shots in the dark here as my wife is clinically depressed, she had to take a leave of absence from teaching last year due to depression, which started after she had given birth to our twins 5 years ago.

Presser is right! You need to get looked at brother. I will never forget my dad telling me that he wished he had the type of help available when he was younger. He said it would have changed his life for the better.
I spent 10 years on antidepressants, then started TRT and have been off them for a year.
Keep us up to date!

Sounds like you have a serious case of Human nature lol, sorry, not trying to make light of it, just being stupid, cause I use to say that to my wife all the time or use to when she would get anxious before we knew how bad it was, or rather before i knew how bad it was as she always said it was terrifying. My wifes anxiety is like nothing i have ever seen before, nor heard about people being this bad until talking to doctors and therapists etc.. SHE is notorious for making mountains outta mole hills, but she is bipolar and when i tell you its bad, i honestly can not describe it with words. Manic over the dumbest shit, talks a mile a minute like shes all coked up, or she doesnt say shit at all. So i get it and i hope you figure it out, they had my wife on all kinds of shit until they found what works best for her, so hopefully you get it figured out.
I know it can take years to finally diagnose an ongoing issue. Hows your memory? Short term specifically? I ask because thats finally when my wife got serious about doctors. She would ask me to come home early from work, and take her and kids to go out to eat, and i would get home 30 minutes later and she would be in her pajamas and didnt remember asking me to come home and go out and it got to the point where i wouldnt even say shit, i would just act like i just got done work and not bring it up otherwise world war 3. Anyhow, thats why asked about memory. I know "bipolar' sounds bat shit crazy, and it can be, lmao, until your on the right meds. Then its daily life business as usual, with a few manic spots here and there lol.
I do hope you get to the bottom of it brutha man! And Not suggesting your bipolar! Just pointing out my wife shared similar issues and she is in fact bipolar. Thast all

When i started TRT it was from Dr.
I did alot more off bat because 47 was my total test...
So I fixed that after he said 3 months
AND loved when he said 6 months.
I wanted TRT for legal and already had high red blood so grabbed order as needed for phlebotomy after 3 months and double red blood with confirmed hep c antibody.
It's not active no virus but treated diseased for safety....

They are way too many factors. 1. Why did you physician start you off on the high end? 2. Are you sure your E2 was checked and NOT our estrogen? What were your baseline numbers? Not just total test, but free? 3. Do you plan on having more kids? If not, drop the HCG. Please post your numbers. Good luck brother

I went to Entourage Hormones. I don't plan on having kids but isn't it good to keep the boys going even on TRT? Anyway, here are my before lab results then 8 weeks later:
Before:
LH: 3.4
FSH: 3.6
T Total: 243
T Free: 9.4
After 8 weeks:
LH: 0.1
FSH: 0.6
T Total: 920
T Free: 34.7
Hgb: 16.5
Hct: 48.9

How many days out were you when you were tested? Are you pinning once a week or twice a week? Regarding HCG, in my opinion if you don't plan on having kids there is no need for it. I've been on TRT for almost 10 years with no HCG or dex/stane. I'm anal when it comes to bloodwork, so I pretty much know where I'm at. I only pin 50mg every 3.5 days and my levels range between 700-1000. Hang in there buddy. You'll get dialed in soon.

Same here!!!
No hcg don't want it never used!!!
No adex or anything else from Dr for estro.
50mg test 2x wk levels between 700-1000 total!!
I only use ai blasting more!
And I laugh at guys with their verified bloods 2x that prove there estro was high and prolactin invcreased... Gee
That doesn't verify that prolactin can be high with crashed or low estro....
All people say is estro estro estro and estro.... leave ai's alone unless blasting until bloods or ran and hcg spikes estro

First off, we can only give you our opinions here. With that being said you're at 920 at 7 days out, correct? Is that in range? Answer: yes. Now think about it. Where do you think you are at 2-3 days out? Your peak is going to be out of range. You're shooting for a stable level. This is why MM and myself pin every 3.5 days. If I were you I would just drop everything but the test. Try it for at least 6 weeks and take it from there. Keep us posted.

I will try dropping the HCG and see how it feels. If that works out after 6 weeks, then I will consider injecting 2x a week. Do want to make too many changes at once cause I won't know what change is actually working.

Dropped the HCG for 3 weeks now. Gyno started subsiding but not all the way gone. Testicular Atrophy was not as bad as I thought it would be, very slight. Muscles seems fuller. I am hoping the fat will start to come off quicker now too.

Update: So I have started getting cystic acne on my face and my hair is falling out at a rapid rate. I contacted my TRT doc and I'm gonna get my bloodwork done to see what is going on. I am continuing to post updates to help those in the future but if you guys don't give a crap I can stop with the updates.

Ha ha, you guys are the best. I try to talk to my close friends and they could not be less interested. I don't how many other guys experience this while on TRT but I have more acne now at 200mg cyp/week then I ever did when I cycled as a younger guy; and I had used up to 800mg test/week.

Other hormone changes occur as we age..
Never had acne till I was 38 I guess.
Past few years these same spots keep coming back. Removed a couple that turned into big subacious cysts...
I finally cleared it anti-biotics always worked then it comes back...
I took low dose doxycycline 20mg 2x a day then Dr gave me Clindamyn/Benz gel.
I apply to areas 1-2× a day and it's all gone.
He will give me refill as needed I go every month for reg med... not TRT Dr but my Dr of 20 years. He knows I am on trt... I only see TRT every 6 months since stable...

Ok guys here is the update with my last round of blood work. I have been feeling pretty good and the acne has subsided. The doctor said everything is looking great but I still feel that Estradiol results are a bit high. I was considering splitting my dose and injecting twice a week but doctor says that I shouldn't change anything. What do you think?

I am following this thread as well. I agree with Muscle Mechanic, I don't care about the number as much as the feel. If my estro gets high, I can feel a lump growing under one nipple and I up my anti estros until it goes back down.

just read through this post. after reading you first one, i wondered why you were dong an ai with just a trt dose. it was the first i considered you had done was crash your estro. as for hcg and keeping the boys hanging a little, i prefer not having that banging bag getting squashed all the time. heck, mine still drop even on cycle sometimes, lol. if your concerns about the estro are still there and you think you might need something, though, i'd consider a serm first, nolva or clomid, before an ai. i could of used a serm or an ai when i was a natty. i convert test to estro i think at a higher rate than most and developed gyno as a natty, especially after 50. you know old man boobs, lmao.
sound like you're getting it adjusted though, and that's good.

lmao, presser, but i know what you mean. my daughter is bipolar and i'm glad she's old enough to be on her own, because it gets to be a real trip with her. when she wasn't medicated, it was like a box of chocolates. didn't know what you was going to get from one moment to the next.

Splitting your dose will help with your E2. I pin every 3.5 days and that's it. Now if you decide to split your dose you may feel out of it for a week or so. It's just your body adjusting to the new dosage. Keep us posted.

Back with an update. It has been about a month since I started splitting up my 200mg/week dose of cyp. I am now injecting 2x a week (M and Th). Hair has stopped falling out and acne has been reduced. I still get some on my face here and there but that I expect. Lumps under nipples have gone down but there is still some sensitivity. Overall, I feel pretty good. Hoping maintain proper levels for a while so I can blast in spring. Thanks for the support guys. I will continue to report back with updates.
