It is suggested you do the exercises three times per week, for three sets, each of which should include ten or fifteen repetitions.​
Also, please note that heavy weight does not have to be used, as it is vital you control the weight while performing these exercises.

I would double down on this from personal experience. Use light weight to target the rotator cuff. Heavy weight will cause the bigger muscles to kick in and replace the rotator cuff in the movement.
 
I use cable machine personally, after three rotator cuff surgeries (2 on the right and 1 on the left) I definitely need to take caution. Doctor said he won't be able to fix the right shoulder if it tears again.
