Best way to train shoulders
I have an issue getting my shoulders to grow. I have done high volume, heavy presses and just about everything I can think of. Do any of you have any ideas as to what I should try?

Having my PT cert with Parillo, he always stressed overhead work, like militaries, reverse military, dumbell presses etc. for max growth. Side lat for width, I always concentrate on all 3 heads, but do allow chest work to hit the front head. I pyramid delt work except isolation which I go fairly light and keep weight mostly static

Yes yr pretty close being in Kentucky, John was a AAU judge back in the day, he does know his shit!! Hes hard core as hell, and former power lifter and yes has great facility. My gym handles his products, but damn they are expensive!! When I put out them for display for members, guess who ends up eating them 80% of the time? Yep its me!!

I have been told and read that standing dumbbell press activates more muscle fiber throughout the deltoid than any other shoulder exercise. I don't know if this is true, but when I do them my shoulders blow up nice. I start with a weight that 25 is pretty easy and go up to 4 reps then back to the 25. usually 8- 10 sets. I feel like they do exhaust the muscle better cause my lateral exercises that follow I can't go as heavy as if I had just don barbell press

Super heavy dB presses and heavy shrugs allways are a willing combo upright rows are great too also next time u dead lift make it a shrug as well when u reach peak of lift

My delts are fairly decent I don't focus on front delts at all when I'm training shoulders like some one els mentioned you get enough of that when you hit chest when I do shoulders I focus on side and rear I'll do about two to three exercises for both and every once and a while I'll do a behind the head press I feel like it hits your whole shoulder if done right. Other then that it's genetics lol I have the hardest time building my chest but my arms and shoulders grow no problem

Me and the boss ( the wife) trained shoulders last night and did the workout that 3J has my wife on. We did reverse pyramids and brought the pain!! Good pain this time. The pump was good and today they are sore. Great workout.

For years my shoulders were by far my lagging body part too. No matter what I did, nothing made a difference. After training with The Dude for a bit and seeing results everywhere except my shoulders, he eventually brought me over to the dark side of bodybuilding (lol) and introduced me to IGF. We religiously applied it to my shoulders, specifically my side and rear delts. That was truly a game changer! I don't want to sound like a walking commercial, but I swear MC's IGF took me to the next level! I wish I had before and after pics to post. Oh well, but if you're not already, you should give it a try. (fyi, MC's is the only brand I've tried. It worked so no need to experiment IMO) Oh and wide upright rows would be my go to exercise Good luck!

My shoulders have always been easy. Now my triceps are another story. But for delts, I ALWAYS start with side lateral raises (Yates style). From there I'll go to a pressing movement, whether it be dumbbell presses, barbell presses, or machine presses. Then I'll throw in a few sets of shrugs to help stretch my delts and prep them for rear delts on either the pec dec machine or using cables. I prefer cables. Then another few sets of side lateral raises on the cables. That's about it for my delts, and if you've seen my pics, you know that works for me.

Genetics will always play a big part but I love the overhead stuff myself. I start off with military press to fill em up with blood then move into laterals and fronts and bent over db to hit the rear head. To attack the rear I hit the cables also and burn the shit out of em. I was blessed as well with a solid set of delts probably my best body part.

So far I've looked up rack pulls. These look like partial deadlifts to me. You say rack pulls for rear delts; how are these more effective than deadlifts for rear delts? Is the movement that different?
