    Default When to Rest.

Many people want to know the exact amount of rest they need between sets. Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all for rest periods. Your rest periods need to fit the goals of your workout. Typically, if you’re training for strength or doing compound movements for hypertrophy, you’ll want to rest a little longer so you can optimize each set. However, isolation movements and machine movements will typically require a little less rest time, but this can be dependent on a few factors and certainly isn’t a rule. I think the best rule of thumb for rest periods is your own judgment – how long should you rest? Until you feel ready to go again 💪

I have talked to a lot of people that have trained all their life and some take off all the time and others never hardly. It all comes down to the person.
