Working out with a belt and without a belt is totally different. If you are in the gym to tone your muscles, you dont need a belt for this.
If you wanted to build muscles and you going to push yourself to the limit, do it with a belt. Obviously you need to do it right. Not too tight till you...
Just tell her physical appearance doesnt really matters... Sooner or ltr anyone will run out of shape. Does it mean she ll need to camp in the gym again? She is just lack of self confidence... Help her to boost her self confidence and i am sure both of you can workout great...
Another food that I find to improve metabolism and bring the fat level low is berries... Eat like 100g as breakfast snack works best... Make it tastier, eat wif a glass of low fat milk.. :-)
