Hi gettnbig2, sorry about late reply! Neither anadrol or d-bol can be converted to dht or any dht-like metabolite. That info from steroids.com is wrong.
I think Bill Roberts puts it better than I could:
"This enzyme can do one thing and one thing only: convert a steroid with a double bond between carbon 4 and carbon 5 to one with a single bond between them (and also adding a hydrogen to each carbon so the total number of bonds remains correct.)
This means that it can convert testosterone to DHT (Figure 8) or nandrolone to DHN (Figure 9) but it cannot convert Winstrol or Anadrol (Figure 2) despite the uninformed claims of careless steroid authors. And although Dianabol does have a double bond between carbons 4 and 5, it nonetheless also is not converted by 5AR."
To confirm his statement we only have to take a look at the structures of these steroids, it really would be impossible for them to interract with 5-alpha reductase enzyme at all.
Of course this does not necessarily mean they are kind on the hair. If the original steroid binds strongly to the androgen receptor then it does not need to convert to dht to cause hairloss (tren is a good example of a steroid like this). But we don't have to worry about this either, fortunately. Here's a study showing this:
Relative binding affinity of anabolic-androgenic steroids: comparison of the binding to the androgen receptors in skeletal muscle and in prostate, as well as to sex hormone-binding globulin.
Saartok T, Dahlberg E, Gustafsson JA.
So really the safest gear of all should be those mentioned above. This is the order I'd put them in personally, safest first:
Drol
Winny
D-bol
Deca
Var
Primo
That's just what I think though, up for debate really! Certainly all of these are far milder than test on the hairline, there is no question of that.
Hope that was of some interest anyway bro.
