The other day, this guy came up to me in the gym and offered me advice (unsolicited) on lifting. Some background: Im in my mid thirties and have been lifting for almost 20 yrs. I was doing some tricep work, supersetting it with biceps. I was getting tired and my elbows were spreading more than ideal. Granted.
Now, this dude who offered me advice is about 20. He's a good 50 lbs smaller (not lighter) than me. He walks up and says " if you want to get maximum benefit from those, you should keep your elbows closer together". I also worked as a PT in the gym for a number of years. I was so shocked that at first I just said "what?".
Now, if I see this guy later, should I be an ass and let him know that I do know what Im doing and even so, will not take advice from a 170 novice, or should I play it cool?
