View Full Version : Precontest 21 weeks out/Precontest 8-9 weeks
Posting some pics before I begin my diet in a few weeks.
I am at 265 at 5'10". I worked with Troponin for offseason bulk for 9 months and now will be working with him for precontest. I really like my size, they key, as with all years, is to hold on to size while dieting and I think he can do that for me.

Really looking forward to seeing your progress MMX, what type of diet are you going for high protein/high fat/low carbs or something more innovative?
basically, there is a high day, a medium day, and a low day.
It will be very interesting, something different but up for the challenge.

A lot of competitors seem to be cycling carb intake now, Jay Cutler says he swears by it in his new.improved and beyond DVD. If you can hold onto all that mass when cutting up you will be absolutely huge on stage

That is my biggest deal- I gain a lot of mass during the offseason, but I just can't keep it all and it just looks weak on a big frame.

You're not alone on that one bro, easy to gain "mass" for a lot of bro's (including myself) as well but it tends to skew to be a higher percentage of fat. Sounds like you've got a plan so stick to it and good luck bro

Your a big guy. It looks like when you lose weight it is really body fat, anytime you lose fat your always gonna appear smaller, bulking up can be fun but when you over due it, it be hell getting ready for a show- because its gonna be harder for you to get ripped. Have fun gettin ripped for your show-and givem hell.

I know how you feel I was 240 lbs before starting my last diet with bodyfat of 10% maybe even less still had vascularity on most of my body but I dieted too much and ended up at 200lbs when I should have been at least 210, I think I need to get some proper help with my next diet

I am very impressed with him so far. LIke I said, I was very pleased with the offseason gains I made. I was really crossing my fingers he had a slot open for contest prep since I know his slate is pretty much filled all the time. Good luck in your prep for the Jr. Nats.

its going ok. This week was the first real week of the diet and I am dying. Yesterday was a very low low carb day and I was dragging ass big time. And the step mill is killing me, but it is an awesome cardio machine. It will take me a week or two to adjust. I am losing a crapload of water these days. I will not begin supplementation till a week or so from now. Tentatively it will be a mix of prop, suspension, winny, tren, EQ, masteron, halo, slin and GH.
I will be posting update pics soon.

At 17 weeks out- down to 248. Things are moving. Having problems eating my 6 meals but diet changed this week. Cardio is going well. I have learned to hate the stepmill but it really helps.
I have not yet begun my supplementation-still waiting for it, but will hopefully begin end of next week which should be a good thing.

What was your bulk diet like. Looks like you got alittle to heavy in my opinion. Still looking good these last few weeks I would bump up the cardio to twice daily 30 mins each and go for some crazy leg extensions to bring out those quads...

I am actually doing that already.
Cardio is 2 hours a day and began to use the cutting gel from Avast last week. ham and glutes typically don't come in till a few weeks before for me(it just the way I am built).

Hey bro, so glad you are the contest prep guru here! Woo hoo- happy day!!!
I'm kidding- you caught me on a low carb day so its to be expected.
Ok a little backround how I operate so you can get a little better understanding. The goal for me is to always come out on the plus side muscle wise when it comes time to step on stage. That means in the offseason I have to eat. I am a endo body type. That means muscle is easy to gain but so is fat. Can't really control that. I plan meals and suipplementation accordingly to come out at a designated goal. That also means that I have to allow more time to prepare for shows than most guys. Here is where it comes out- this season I will go on at 210. That is +10 lbs from last season which is unheard of for a guy my age. I attribute that to my supplementation plan and the great diet guidance I am getting from my contest guy. He is very aware of my body type and has made changes every week from the offseason to contest prep. I hope that explains a little about how I prepare for shows- you have to plan things a year in advance....
BTW cardio is 2 hours day and I am working legs twice a week now till the show.....

what are you doing for cardio?
your still with trop right
what are you doing for cardio?
your still with trop right
Yes, defintely still with Trop.
I only have two choices for cardio:
-Step Mill
-treadmill at 3.0mph with 15.0 incline
I like the step mill more because it works the hams more but if that is not avail its the treadmill.
Right now it has been 10 times a week for stepmill and 4 times for treadmill.

haha trop loves that cardio
follow Justins plan and everything will work out
good luck these next few weeks
It'll be great- there are three shows and this will be the first time I have done back to backs in all my years. Should be interesting.

Any new pics bro wondering how your making out cutting up
Yes- see link.
7 weeks out pics(am 3 weeks out from today from show).
I have also included a pic of my face when I started at the end of February.
The challenge will be that its back to back for the first two shows- one in Texas, the next in New Hampshire) and I have not done back to backs.
Lots of improvement thanks to Trop- a real master. On his advice, I will not get too large in the offseason, so I will stick with a modified diet in the offseason as contests begin earlier next year in June and July.

Well for 40 looking damn goos bro keep it up update us with pics after first show...
Dude I can't believe that's you! It looks like you lost a 100lbs in the last 3 months
Its close to 60lbs since end of Feb. with a net of 10 lbs muscle this year. I am good with that, but like I said I will be more conservative in the offseason so I won't have to diet so long for the next shows that begin in June.

Lookin damn good. You may be a little ahead of schedule, so dont waste any size or density. I wouldnt want to feel depleted at 9 weeks. Id be endangering muscle I dont have to spare. Keep us posted.
