How many carbs preworkout and timing

Ive been taking in about 100 grams and starting about 45 minutes out. Im sure some do way more. Im just curious to hear some logic and amounts.
 
I just end up eating an 8oz piece of meat and a cup and a half of green veggies and then I make a shake and I'm good to go. Then a gatorade or chocolate milk PWO
 
i think simple carbs work best, for me, pre and post workout. pre meal might be lean meat with white rice twice boiled and a post might be a mix of simple and complex carbs like some regular pasta mixed with some whole wheat pasta, meat and sauce. if timed right the simple carbs will provide enough energy to get you thru ur workout and there readly available. for regular meals its always complex carbs.
