Cardio : Treadmill VS Bike

I have been recently doing the treadmill (today 20 min's and I got up tp a 11 incline and 4.2 mph) and I have really noticed that without running or jogging that I am burning alot more calories on the treadmill than I do with the bike. I want to switch them back and forth though because I read an article that as far as cardio goes if you do the same thing repeatitively that it starts burning less and less calories bc your body gets more effecient at doing it. Whats your guygs thoughts??
 
first off do not pay attention to the calorie meter on those machines, they are way off. Treadmill is definetly a better burn though, the bike really is just one step away from laying on a couch doing nothing, I usually do the bike when I real tired or legs are sore. Fat people love the bike because its easy

Bike can be a workout if you make it one. Most just don't crank up the resistance.
