How do you squat?

I thought of this based on the "Worst spotter" video I posted...how many of you use the pad on the bar when you squat? I've stopped using it, because my chiropractor showed me a place lower on my traps to hold the bar that really works well and keeps the weight off my neck/top of the spine.
 
I''ve never used a pad or anything but the bar when squatting. I always free weight barbell squat with the bar on traps/back, down parallel 90 degrees or a lil lower after my extensions warming the ol knees up! i keep my chin up , slow and controlled on way down and feel the stretch then explode up.
