I've been looking into this alot lately and have yet to find pertinent studies (shocker).
Just to give an example today while training triceps I decided to try to beat me best on one arm pressdowns. Previous was 100lbs for 21. Today I did 105 for 23. The problem is I had to stop at 23 because I felt so much tension were the tricep inserts into the upper arm. Obviously higher reps isn't the answer... Then thought about leg press. Last time I went over my best of 11 plates a side for 18, I did 11 and a 25 per side and ended up with a little twinge in the quad... Biceps... Same thing...
I use pretty much everything out there to aid me with this and that's the reason I've been able to put on nearly 40lbs of solid tissue over the last 4 years, but now what? Is it a genetic thing? Nuk doesn't seem to suffer from it?? Nor Presser with his 500lb bench presses....
Thoughts??
