Hey guys had read from a couple of people that its actually bad for you to massage post injection. That heat was ok but not massaging. Anyone actually have a theory or reason behind this? Ive been massaging since i started using and have never had a problem....

Yeah I think I know who your talking about and they never answered for themselves. It just doesn't make sense. The medical community encourages health care workers to have their patients massage post IM injections as it is believed that it helps with pain and enhances the abosrpotion of the medication.

Here's a study that suggests massaging post IM reduces pain:

Who is this that never answered for themselves? is it the same person who suggested such a rediculous fucking things? who is it , tell me tell me

My doctor even told me I should massage the area after injecting for HRT to help it absorb better.

That was me. You are not supposed to massage the area vigorously because you can actually push the ester into surrounding adipose tissue which will later affect absorption.

I have learned this in my own medical training and have spoken with several fellow doctors who follow the practice themselves. I have also however, spoken with people who think such advice is as you put it, "ridiculous".

I am only giving you my own advice, just like when asked on a board, a person will give their best advice.

Take it or leave it...

lol, appreciate the explanation brutha! no matter how rediculous i think it sounds! lol, seriously though thnx for clearing that up

We just wondered why since we've mostly been told to massage the area (although not vigorously, just gently). Thanks for the clarifying post.

I think you may have unintentionally left out "vigorously" from your initial post. When you say no massage at all, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Also, I have to wonder how likely that theory is when considering certain muscles. For example, the delts more than likely have a whole hell of alot less adipose than say the glutes. But even more important is the depth at which the injection took place. A deep 1.5ml injection should have little chance in reaching any external adipose tissue, don't you think?
