I really killed both knees today and my knees are throbbing, and I was curious if anyone here had success with ice packs on them and or ibuprofen, Sucks balls!

Ice seems to make my knees hurt worse. I usually go for the heat approach with knees.

yeah I just read a good article stating ice hinders healing by not allowing igf to get to said area , or something like that lol, i just know i read ICE Kills IGF and Healing

I think it's because it constricts the blood vessels, and there aren't so many vessels in that area already.

I never ice shit bro. Ice is one of the worst things you could do, there are more and more studies that show it makes things worse. You know what I love bro is Salonpas, I through a box a week between my wife and I. Costco has them in big box's. My knees always hurt, mostly my inner knees around the lower part of the tear drop.

That and the area is trying to get blood in there to heal naturally. Kind of like immediately taking Motrin or Tylenol if you have a slight fever, you have to let the body fight it off as much as possible.

Heat and Icy Hot or any product similar to it are miracle workers for me. I have a heating pad filled with beans or something that can be heated in the microwave. It has become one of my new best friends, my shoulders and elbows have been aching a lot more lately than I ever remember. Luckily my knees aren't bothering me, I'd imagine ice would just cause the joints to want to stiffen up and constrict any blood flow to the lower extremity

Get absorbine horse liniment and put it on your knees before training.

Also, rehband knee sleeves or Tommy Kono knee sleeves rock. Knee wraps will completely take your knees out of it but as a bodybuilder you might not want to use those because of how much rebound they will give you. It might not hurt though to give them a try.

Tommy Konos are awesome for bad knees!! I used to have a pair when my knees were bothering me but gave them to my training partner when his started bothering him. I still have a set of elbow sleeves though and they get used often

good info, i have never worn any wraps of any kind, nor sleeves, and probably never will lol, ill just train til my bones and joints turn to powder before i wear wraps, however i could see a nice sleeve on the knees, but again probably would never use it

Wraps are bullshit for powerlifting for sure since people can get 75+ lbs out of them, but for training they will most definitely help your joints.

I think if you tried the Tommy Kono bands you'd like them honestly. They're comfortable and would look nice while you're doing squats in flip flops
