anybody try anything like this while cutting carbs?

yeah im thinking about ordering the sample pack to last me a couple months through my dieting. Theres a guy on another forum i frequent that has used them and he said its surpisingly awesome and tastes just like noodles. they also absorb any of the sauce you put on them so they are really easy to make good. Hell i think a serving of them a little chicken or fish stock and a couple chicken breasts cut or fish filets cut up would be a great soup. with virtually no carbs. Yeah i think im gonna have to order some haha.

Ok guys i decided to go try one of the local asian markets we have in town, i couldnt find the shirataki noodles supposedly similar to dry tofu but i did get some whats called Jiangxi Rice Vermicelli. I figured with rice being on it it would be around 45 or 50 g's of carbs per serving and that is not the case.
fat-0.006
cholesterol-0
sodium-.09
total carbohydrates-4.6g's
I just made a pretty damn delicious meal using them.
What i used were 2 chicken bullion (sp?) cubes.
bowl of water
3 servings of the rice noodles so just over 13 grams of carbs
2 tilappia filets
tablespoon of louisiana hot sauce i didnt have any sirocci again (sp)
cook the noodles in boiling water for about 5 minutes while they are bowling cut fish into small cubes put in bowl of water along with 2 bullion cubes, cook until fish is cooked through stir well put your serving of noodles into bowl and stir. Very similar to a pho dish, add hot sauce to taste. Very simple and very good. Bout 50 g's of protein virtually 0 g's of fat and 13 carbs.
The big downfall here is its a ton of sodium. I will start using low sodium chicken stock from now on in these dishes but try it i promise if you like simple tasty soups you will love this.

another reason i went to the market is the other miracle noodles are a bit pricey so i didnt wanna spend that or wait 15 days for shipping. I paid 1.87 for two bags of these noodles, i used probably 1/3 of the bag for one meal. Pretty easy way to get that full feeling of pasta without consuming 50 or 60 g's of carbs.

YES
steph brought them
their pretty good. only down side is the visual, their kinda clear noodles.

she made them with a tomato sauce then this week with a thai peanut sauce... freakin awesome
order just a few to try, but your right if your on low carb their a god send

PM steph and shell give you the recipies

sweet bro will do yeah man im bout to have another helping of them they are great. Im dieting and i still eat carbs but its nice on my bigger meals that i can still get that full feeling without all the pasta etc.

Did she buy the miracle noodles or the other ones i was talking about. I love the china ones just because they are under a buck for a big bag lol.

i probably will in a few weeks, 45 bucks to get the sample pack shipped i can buy like 3 cases of these rice noodles for that haha. Just had another helping of that stuff and man it was good. Used half a serving of beef broth with reduced sodium this time, pretty good though definitely a good way to switch it up and actually be full for a while.

My cals are down to around 2400 a day which is low for me at 240 and this is the first time dieting that i can say that I am full for a couple hours its great.

still eating these twice a day and really enjoying them, had spagetti last night lol, tasted great. If you have an asian market near you check it out, theres some good food and some weird shit there.

I actually grew up eating this stuff. My mom used to refer to it as "long rice." She usually added chicken and veges to it, and whatever seasonings that made it good as hell! Here's a recipe I found that is pretty close to what I used to eat:

3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken cut into small pieces or strips
6 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
3 cloves garlic, minced
1½ teaspoons sugar
dash pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
6-8 oz. sliced mushrooms
2-4 chopped green onions
10 oz. long rice
8 oz chicken broth

^^ damn bro that looks great i never knew what descent you were from. I just couldnt believe being called rice that it only had 4 carbs lol. Also one hell of a find over there in your other thread cant wait to try some of that stuff. Who couldnt want 0 cal 0fat mayo haha.

I LOVE MIRACLE NOODLES!!!!

I made them a few times... once mixed with birds eye frozen veggies in a tomato sauce, another time with my own sauce and then last week I made pad thai. They don't taste funny at all and how could you not love them when they're so good for you??

Damn, that chicken pad thai made my mouth water for a second. I think I'm gonna go eat somethin ;)

It was really good!

Ingredients:
1/3 cup peanut butter, softened (I used all natural, reduced fat skippy - chunky)
3 tbsp water
2 tbsp soy sauce (made by Kikkoman - lowest sodium brand I could find)
juice from 2 limes (I actually didn't have this, so I substituted with a little bit of diet ginger ale)
1 tbsp fresh minced ginger
1/2 tsp brown sugar (I used brown sugar splenda)
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, or to taste
salt to taste (I used sea salt)
chicken (I only had 2 breasts left over, but you could use more or less, or even another protein - depends on your preference)
sesame seeds (optional - I added this to the original recipe I found)
2 packages miracle noodles
1 can bean sprouts

Preparation:
- Whisk the first 9 ingredients together in a small bowl. If needed, you can microwave the peanut butter for a few seconds first to soften it up.
- Dice chicken and cook by stovetop until almost completely cooked.
- Meanwhile, cleanse miracle noodles, as you normally would.
- When chicken is done, add "sauce" and noodles and stir well.
- Total prep/cook time: 10-15 minutes!!

My addition:
- I wasn't sure if my chicken was done, so I then immediately transferred it to a baking dish and threw it in the oven on 400 degrees for about ten minutes. This made the sauce a little bit thicker and helped the noodles absorb it better.

Had to bump this up! I ordered more noodles earlier this week and they arrived today. Sooooooo happy! It's like cheating, except it's not! A dieters dream!! Love these things... just made some with low fat/low sodium chicken broth and broccoli. Not exactly exciting, but it makes meals more interesting and appealing for sure!

So they are pretty good then? I remember when GS posted this but haven't heard many reports back about them. I hardly ever diet (thank God for my metabolism), but for those rare occasions I am glad to know I can still get my pasta fix ;)

I'll pretend I didn't just read that or I might start to hate you. j/k!

Yeah, I love them! They don't have any flavor so they take the flavor of whatever you cook it in and it's the texture of noodles. I've made pad thai (like it in the pix I posted last year), italian gravy (or "marinara sauce" for you non-italians, lol), mixed it with frozen veggies and sauce... whatever you want! And $20 buys you 10 packages. I think the website might have recipes too.

When you first open the package, it has a fishy smell... it comes with brief directions. I just rinse them real quick in a strainer, then put it in the pot with whatever I'm cooking. They don't taste funny at all. I think the fishy liquid it comes in helps preserve it or something.
