sorry none of the profiles or the info that have found say anything about if it is legal or not.

i always score the side in the narrow part with a file and take something like a spoon and tap the top part while holding the bottom firmly and it snaps off clean every time. you have too tap it pretty hard but it works great and it never crushes.

I would get it x-rayed i had a scafoid bone broke in my wrist once and you couldn't tell by looking at it. scafoid it one of the small gravel like bone in the joint.good luck.IP
