it's what is happening to me.
i started at 174 and know after 3 weeks i am 196.
yes body fat was fairly low at the beginning, around 5 % now i have to measure it.
never heard of anyone who does cardio one day off.
personally i stop cardio 2 weeks prior of contest day if i stripped out almost all fat; but i also ran cardio till first day of carbing up.
when u begin carbing up, don't consume glycogen training or making cardio.

just to say i agree with u when u say it's all depending on diet.and i know water is no fat btw i think some gear are more suitable for cutting.
every gear based on test produces also an increase in size of brown fat cell this was prooved scientifically long ago.

to avoid gluconeogenesis in keto diet you must increase fat intake and not to go too high with protein.i've heard some one go with 70% of caloric intake from fat rest protein.it sounds like the righ way for keto diets.

if u 're train to drop body fat from 18 to 9%, you really need a cutting cycle.
