3-Day Lifting Routine: Worth Switching From 5 Days a Week?

I’m a 48-year-old man, currently around 190 lbs at about 13% body fat. I run my main log over on EVO. Does anyone here run a solid 3-day lifting routine?

I did an 8-week 3-day split earlier this year and honestly felt great — better recovery, more energy, and it freed up time for 2-3 solid cardio sessions per week. The only thing holding me back is wondering if I was actually making real progress in the gym compared to my usual 5-day split.

Normally I lift 5 days a week, but that usually limits me to just one decent cardio session consistently. Now that the weather is warming up, I’m planning to add more outdoor walks with my 40lb weight vest.

For those of you who lift 3 days a week (full body, upper/lower, or push/pull/legs), how has it worked for you long-term?

• Did you keep making good strength and muscle gains?

• How’s your recovery and energy levels?

• Would you recommend it over a 5 or 6-day split, especially if you also want to do cardio?

Appreciate any thoughts or routine recommendations!
