Been eating alot of bananas recently, been growing ever since...Thought I would share:

Banana Nutrition Facts

* A banana contains Vitamin C, potassium and dietary fiber.
* Bananas do not contain sodium, fat or cholesterol.
* The Vitamin C, which is found in bananas, helps the body to defend and heal against infections. This vitamin also proves valuable in the synthesis of the connective tissue, absorption of iron and the formation of blood.
* Not only are bananas rich in vitamin C, they also contain potassium. Potassium is a mineral that helps in the building of muscles and protein synthesis. This is done as potassium stimulates nerve impulses for muscle contraction.
* A diet rich in potassium is said to reduce the risk of hypertension and stroke. As bananas are free from sodium and very rich in potassium, they can be included in the diet to reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
* Bananas contain three natural sugars, sucrose, fructose and glucose along with fiber. A banana thus gives an instant and substantial boost of energy.
* A banana contains Vitamin B6, which helps in the synthesis of antibodies in the immune system apart from red blood formation, protein metabolism and functioning of the central nervous system.
* No other fruit contain more digestible carbohydrates than bananas. This is advantageous because, the body burns off calories from carbohydrate more easily and quickly than calories from fat or protein.

Bananas are great especially after workout in my opinion. If you are diabetic they are horrible though. The reason I say this is that my mom, who is diabetic, said every night she was eating a banana before going to bed and woke up with really bad shakes. I let her know how high glycemic they were and that they weren't the best thing to eat before bed especially without protein. Just my footnote.

I love bananas! I used to eat 3-4 a day, but cut down after I learned more about diet... I like to have one after lifting with my protein shake though. So yummy!

Sounds like a fruit I should be eating more often since I have hypoglycemia. How do you keep them from going bad though?

I just buy a few and uaually eat them before they go bad. If they get real black I make banana bread. (cus I'm cheap and I hate throwing
them away)

Usually if I have time in the morning I like to throw a couple of bananas in a blender with milk, 3 scoops syntha6, and a nitrotech bar. Makes for one tasty breakfest drink for on the go with nearly 100 grams protein. I didn't think the bananas had much nutritional value, just tatsed good to me, glad to see they do.
