In a dramatic will-he won't-he turn of events we have just learned that the Egyptian giant, Big Ramy, will defend his NY Pro title this Saturday, May 17. It seemed that a respiratory problem he endured some weeks ago had sabotaged the 29 year old's prep for this years NY pro but now he aims to walk onto the Tribecca Theater stage with all 24" guns blazing.
Noises from his camp seem to indicate that what we will not see on Saturday is a patched up Big Ramy limping into battle to honor a contest contract obligation. Instead the word is that he will make last year's Big Ramy look like the Michelin Man by virtue of newly mined feathery detail complete with ripped up quads. AND, and at 290 pounds he will be ten pounds heavier than the physique that steamrollered to victory last year. This guy is already a phenomenon by virtue of being the biggest competitive bodybuilder we have ever seen and by only having worked out for three years. If he comes in as we hear his legend will grow like .... well a Big Ramy, and he will surely present the major threat to Phil Heath's Olympia reign.
