Change Training Routines Mid-Cycle

Does anyone change their training routines mid-cycle? Beneficial or not? I usually change routines when I've plateaud. I would assume taking supplements will keep you from hitting a plateau. I understand based on goals is how you choose your routine. But considering recovery would be better, would adding in more volume or more days a week, could also be beneficial.
 
I try to keep gear consistent if im making changes. If i want to try something new... i want gear to remain consistent so i can monitor progress.

or... stay off gear and do the same. Just gets confusing if you throw in hormone changes at that time.
 
Kinda part of my question. I'm not talking long or loaded cycles here, anyway...so yes, you would change your training routine if needed during a cycle?
 
absolutely. the body adapts to any training you do. you have to keep shocking the system.
 
Agreed. Everytime I hear the word shock refered to in weight training I think of Dodgeball where the guy is like, "I'm wailing on the glutes, gonna shock the biceps later."
