I wanna cruise my bike troughout Alaska. I would also like to visit the States and Japan. And for one time I would really like to go to some tropical Island. Beach vacations aren't really my style, but these islands always look so damn tempting on tv.
been there done that- definatly not worth the money.. I travel alot.. took my daughter on it.. and it was sooo over priced and over rated.. and everything even Soda costs extra....
Next time- I go to Disney and stay at a fat resort.. and if I want to go to the Bahamas again.. it wont be with Disney..
My $1000 or less vacation would be catching a cheap flight to europe, maybe go back to germany or italy, just the wife and I... get eurorail passes, and just kind of roam around, staying at nice but cheap places. Probably back to Italy (I lived there for 18 months when I was 13 & 14) - it's cheap as hell!
Oh no problem- I was soooo excited to take her.. it was a fiasco that cost an arm and a leg- and they were not prepared when one day we couldnt dock at the island that they pump up-we paid for all these activies for that day- and then it was such a let down to tell the kids NOPE- no bike rides, no fishing, etc.. it was hell- on the ship YMCA over and over again with the characters.. I wanted to kill my self.. I just forget my belt... the kids were even bored... hahaha
I've done disney, btw - a lot of fun! Actually, did it twice, once with the wife and kids for a week, then once with the kids by myself (no wife) while down for a bowl game. Stayed really cheap in a nice place thanks to priceline.com, actually on a disney property for $45/night (in downtown disney). Had a blast! Want to go back and do universal, too... inlaws might be wintering near orlando starting next winter!
Bleedgreen, if you have the desire to do Machu Pichu go for it, you'll love it. I was there 2 years ago with my ex and her parents. It was absolutely incredible. We flew to Cusco and took a train to Aguas Caliente, the town at the base of the mountain. I will never forget it. There are hiking trips you can book that take a trail from Cusco, and I bet you could bike it too. I lived in Buenos Aires for 2 years when I was 14/15. Went back on the trip to Machu Pichu. Beautiful city, but expensive now.
One of the best vaccations I had was a honeymoon trip to scuba dive in Bonaire N.A. If it weren't for the memories tied to that place I'd go back.
Beento the Carribean a couple times and loved every time. I think I'd like to travel to Europe. I've never been there. My gf was born in Athens and we would like to go there together. The Euro-pass idea sounds ideal. Maybe fly over, tour the continent, and take the QEII back. That would be a great time.
I think I've been to every state except Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. So many great things to see right here in our homeland.....god I love to travel.
Bager I'm surprised would have expected this one from you australia figi new zeland dive the great barrier reef. Done hawaii already awesome fishies there.
