Actually, I dont like either. What have you done and mainly - how's it work??
do you think you need specific abb exercise to bring them out or is diet
enough??

I think you have to keep training them, but diet is the only thing that will make them visible.

I like to work them twice a week. Two exercises each time

one heavy and low reps. One light and with bw with high reps

Diet needs to be pretty strict for them to be looking good all the time and IGF helps a ton :)

i dont think you need to train them directly. I train abs minimally if I train them at all. Doing alot of heavy compound lifts will help them keep up with the rest of the body.

my abs dont look any better dieted down whether I trained them all year or neglected them. i only train them DC style now, and thats mainly to keep lower back problems controlled.

yep...it's both, but diet is going to lower your bodyfat %. Also genetics play a big factor in how well they show. Some guys (like myself) have very small abs that don't stick out. Even if I got below 8% they wouldn't look that good. So I need to train them and diet hardcore.

Diet and cardio man. Always easier said than done right:) I have noticed that people who concentrate a lot on lower abdominal exercises usually have better overall development. During spring/summer, I hit abs almost every day, but while I like my abs to pop out, I like to hit my abs with higher reps most of the time to keep my waste small and muscle fibers as dense as possible. When I was younger, I would sometimes do 1000 reps for my ab routine, which normally took between 20-30 minutes of various exercises. I know that was probably overkill, but I was a competetive martial artist and boxer back then and I never wanted to be vulnerable to body shots.

same here bro, even when I was a marathoner and lean as hell my abs never stuck out very much... i just don't have the genetics for an easy 6 pack

training 40 %, diet 30 %, genetics 30 %, to get them visible ( obviously without the genetics its a lot harder )

Yep, I used to run track. Even when I was 155-160lbs and running 10+ miles a day I didn't have abs. I mean I can feel the abs under my skin they just don't pop out like other guys. At 220 I could still feel them under my skin, but they don't pop out. WTF? Obviously body fat is a little higher but my muscle mass is higher too. I'm leaning out right now and I'm at 201-203 lbs right now and still nothing. I'm not going to worry about it at this point. I just want to look good and be healthy. I've just accepted at this point that I'll never have great abs like some of you lucky fucks. lol.

Diet. I never train my abs with heavy weight. I have a tiny waist though and want to keep it that way. I just do regular ab workout at home on my days off.

Yeah, I stopped training them as well. I just focus on my core exercises. I haven't noticed much of a difference in the way they look. lol.
