It was the wierdest thing. On my last let I heard a snap come from my left side. It didnt hurt, just scared me. Luckly there was a ER Doctor there and he said what had happen was that I tore the muscle that connects the ribs together. Now Im in pain, and there is nothing to do for it, but pain killers. This sucks!

They gave me prescription strength motrin. You can take 800mgs and it helps some. I did the exact same thing and heard the pop doing heavy shrugs once. The doc said the muscle had like an eyeball shaped tear around my ribs. It lasted a couple weeks and I couldn't do much of anything that required moving. Try the motrin bro. You can take 4 of the regular ones.

something similar happened to me last winter while doing rack deads...loud pop from rib cartilage.......the worst of it was being scared to do anything heavy for weeks after

I always thought it was cartalidge that was between each rib

sounds like something my buddy did last week...

he was being an ass and decided to one arm row weight that was entirely to heavy for him and he felt a slight tear and snap on his side

OUCH

were you going heavy nuk?
seems likes half the time injuries occur, its when you're not even lifting that heavy.

It is a muscle. And yes I was going heavy. its very tender today, and hurts the worse when I take a shit.

dude, you got shitty luck with injuries. Seems your always fucking yourself up...... chest, forearm, and now this. Sorry to hear

I know! It sucks, but I try not to let it get me down and just work around them.

When you are trying to compete at a high level like you are I think its just part of the process. Glad you have a good perspective. You have to make sacrifices and it seems you are willing.

I can only imagine what that's like. I cracked some ribs a few years back grappling, I don't know if that's the same type of pain, but that wasn't fun. It made breathing difficult so I can only imagine what that's like. Hopefully you won't be sidelined too long as it seems you're making great progress this season
