Jawon Bethea Garrison | WRPF American Pro 2 Results
  • Squat — 353 kilograms (778.3 pounds)
  • Bench Press — 230 kilograms (507.1 pounds)
  • Deadlift — 332.5 kilograms (733.1 pounds)
  • Total — 915.5 kilograms (2,018.3 pounds)
Garrison went seven-for-nine at the meet, missing his opening squat and final deadlift attempt. The squat and deadlift lifts are both personal records as well. The bench press tied his best lift in competition. He clinched second place to John Haack for Best Lifter with a DOTS score of 620.153 thanks to his efforts.

According to Open Powerlifting, Garrison has been competing since 2017. He weighed in right at the cap of 82.5 kilograms for this meet. He claimed the record on his second deadlift attempt of 332.5 kilograms (733.1 pounds). This total overtakes Blake Lehew’s previous record of 915 kilograms (2,017.2 pounds) that he set at the 2022 WRPF Professional Powerlifting Championship Finals by less than a kilogram. John Haack had owned the record before Lehew claimed it. Garrison is also fourth on the all-time total list with a combined (1,952.2 pound) score at the 2022 WRPF American Pro.

This is the sixth record to be taken at the American Pro 2. The previous five records were all deadlift records by Sara Schiff, Sawyer Klatt, Dorrell Petties, Nabil Akram Lahlou, and Liam Newell. Replays of all three days of the American Pro 2 are available to watch for free on the WRPF America’s – Professional Powerlifting YouTube channel.
