O/T Mickey Mantle Cheated??

Looks like forensics experts took an X-ray of the bat Mickey Mantle had used, and it was corked.

Anyone think this is cheating??

If this is true, and guys like Bonds, Sosa, McGuire who may qualify for the Hall of Fame but excluded from steroid use, should Mantle be excluded??

Think they should investigate this, or is it a further waste of money??


My thought is in one way or another for many many years, there have been multiple "advantages" used in the MLB. I think it has been pretty much fair game. I think Steroids or not, you should get in. Nutrition is better, bats and balls have evolved, people have become more versatile and athletic, medicine is better, etc...Today's athletes should be better.

Historically they are. How does one distinguish what cheating truly is??

Of course it was cheating. I cannot say I blame them. Players will always be looking for an advantage. But I think you're correct. Guys like McGwire, Sosa, and Bonds saved the game of baseball and they deserve to be in the HOF.

They did save baseball. But know one wants to give Canseco credit as a baseball player. And I no you think he is DICK and so do I. But if McGwire, Soda and Bonds should be in the HOF. Then so should Canseco.

And I think Bonds is the Biggest DICK there is.

No arguments from me on how good of a player Canseco was on the field. None at all. Could even start to formulate one. First 40-40 guy ever in baseball. Speaks for his abilities bigtime.

At least Ken Griffey JR weight about 175 soaking wet his whole career. He could have been blasting GH and clen his whole career ripped to the bone and we'd never know. He will get in.

I think they all should get in. Canseco hands down. And the fact they pulled Pete Rose out of the HOF is bullshit. His gambling was years after he played. It makes not an ounce of sense.

Pete Rose gambled as a manager. He bet on his team to lose and did so often. If Pete had admitted it when it happened he would not have had a life time ban. The fact he lied about it all these years is what dug his own grave.

Griffey Jr had such a sweet swing and had a chance to be the best HR hitter of all time. Imagine if he had been on Growth and Juicing like all the other guys. He'd have been healthy and had more HR's each year. He was great and a quiet professional. I was a fan of his dad, Griffey Sr as a Braves fan as a kid.
