Rade Opacic finished Errol Zimmerman in brutal fashion in Singapore. | ONE Championship ONE Championship aired a tape-delayed fight card Friday, and the highlight came from the kickboxing portion of the show, when experienced 34-year-old veteran Errol Zimmerman, a multiple-time muay thai and K-1 champion, took on Rade Opacic in a heavyweight contest in Singapore.
Opacic, 23, was competing only for the 20th time as a professional while Zimmerman sported an 82-27-1 record in kickboxing going into the match. Opacic’s speed made the difference, however, as he stopped Zimmerman with a lightning-fast spinning heel kick in the second round.

The MMA section of the event featured three fights, including former welterweight title contenders Tyler McGuire and Agilan Thani batting for a spot back in the title picture.
McGuire’s wrestling and grappling were too much for Thani despite his efforts to disengage on the feet and avoid submission attempts. McGuire took Thani down six times over the course of the 15-minute fight, getting back control in many occasions but unable to secure the finish.
In the end, McGuire won via unanimous decision and returned to the winning column 25 months after Zebaztian Kadestam ended his 10-fight victorious streak for the vacant ONE welterweight belt. McGuire used some “MMA math” exercise in his post-fight interview to call for a shot at ONE welterweight champion Kiamrian Abbasov.
“I know everybody talks about MMA math,” McGuire said. “I beat [Luis Santos] ‘Sapo,’ Abbasov lost to ‘Sapo.’ I lost to Zebaztian [Kadestam], Abbasov beat Zebaztian. Let’s see how that MMA math plays out.”
The first fight of the night featured a quick knockout win for Chen Rui. The 24-year-old Chinese bantamweight slugged it out with Ali Motamed for two minutes, backing his opponent against the cage until a left hand rocked and dropped his opponent. Rui continued to attack until the referee called it off, handing “The Ghost” the fifth knockout victory of his MMA career.
