What is the average dose protocol for HRT?

If your Dr is in board with TRT I have never heard of a break since it is replacing, in a sense, what your body should be making. If your body doesn't make it then stopping the TRT at any point will not be a good thing and cause undue stress and symptoms to your body.

exactly!! However in fairness, Survivors question got me thinking as with exogenous testosterone, your receptors can become saturated. So i am now wanting to as my doctor what his thoughts are on this, maybe they cant saturate when using just a small doage every ten days like i do, but i dont know long term. So it got me thinking anyhow

Guess it depends on how much you are taking. If you take to much and you body can still make it's own it will shut off natural production. I would think the body can handle exogenous test, without over saturation, if kept below a certain level. That's my 2 cents and of course we are all different and at what level that happens to be is probably a moving target.

I should have jumped in here earlier. I've been on doctor prescribed TRT for 23 years. Started out at 300mg/week because I was so low and at 30 years old. I'm now 53, and I've been on 400mg/week for probably about 8-10 years, I've lost count. During all this time, I've had different doctors, some knowledgeable about TRT, and some painfully not. I was lucky to get a couple that understand how the half life of cypionate works and that a high test result isn't bad. Over the years, I've found that this is what works best for me. I've known a couple of others on the board that had a doc prescribe more than 400mg for them, so it's just all how it works individually.

Big Z,

That is awesome. I got a call last night from a buddy that is worried about his dad. The doc put him on trt 1/2 cc a week, and his numbers were 300 after being on this for 6 months. Some doc's just don't get it and end up doing more damage than helping. After our discussion, he is going to have his dad bump up his dosage.

Sounds like everyone is all over the place w dosages etc
I have doubts my dr would be open for prescribing, I'll ck first w my insurance to see if they would cover the expense

Might need to go Dr shopping if he is not open to it.

yep! sadly thats how most medicines are prescribed! all over the place dosage wise from person to person, although maybe thats better, maybe theyre customizing dosages on a person per person bases.....nah lmao

I checked insurance company and apparantly they do cover TRT, so whats my best bet to get my DR onboard? Go completly off for at least 4 wks and make appt for a blood panel?
