I'm new here and I'm going to have a LOT of questions
So here is one of the many to come.

Can anyone tell me which is more beneficial.
Whey protein, isolate etc.
And does the brand actually matter or the content of each?

Brands don't matter much.

I prefer an ion-exchange but if you're just starting, like Zylo said concentrate is cool. Whey is whey, for the most part.

I agree with Jaywooly and Zylo. I prefer getting as much as I can get in one scoop because I don't want to spend money on 1-2 lbs of designer protein that will only do the same thing as 5 lbs of concentrated protein that costs the same or less.

...not to mention that there are a lot of good natural sources of protein as well.

isolate is very fast acting and will get into your system very quickly so its best either in the morning since you havent had protein in your system in a long time so it will get there right away, and after your workout since you need it asap. whey protein is a moderate digesting protein which is cheaper then isolate and more commonly used.

I wouldnt be to caught up n the different wheys bro. Try to get as much solids in as you can since your body will digest the liquid in 45 minutes anyways.

Bump these guys. Food is best. You will never notice the differance between a cheap whey and a super protien........I think unless your in the pro ranks where every little bit counts you dont need expensive whey.

Get your chicken, tuna, cottage cheese and other protien rich and Essential fatty acid rich foods.

If you have questions about diet you came to the right place. Da_Fonz really knows his stuff.
