MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the matchup that Tim Means is stepping in to fight Perry at the Nov. 21 pay-per-view event in Las Vegas. Means replaces Robbie Lawler, who was scheduled to face Perry before bowing out with an injury last week.
The Means-Perry fight was first reported by ESPN.
Means (30-12-1, 1 NC) has alternated wins and losses in his previous six appearances. He has fought twice in 2020, with his most recent outcome being a unanimous decision win over Laureano Staropoli at a UFC Fight Night in August. His UFC record stands at 12-9 with one no contest.
For Perry, this will be his first fight since his involvement in a physical altercation at a restaurant in Lubbock, Texas, this past July. According to a police report, Perry struck at least three different people, resulting in him being charged with Class A assault. He later apologized to the UFC and his sponsors.
In October, Perry’s ex-wife Danielle Nickerson accused Perry of domestic violence in an interview with MMA Junkie.
Perry (14-6) recently snapped a two-fight losing streak with a unanimous decision win over Mickey Gall at UFC on ESPN 12 in June.
