Felder first needs an X-ray or MRI of his right elbow, according to medical suspensions released by the Nevada Athletic Commission (courtesy of official ABC records keeper Mixedmartialarts.com). If “positive” for a serious injury, he needs to get a doctor’s clearance or he will be suspended until May 14. Felder’s rep didn’t immediately return a request for comment on the nature of the injury.
Felder stepped up to face dos Anjos on five days’ notice and went the distance with the ex-champ, earning a 48-47 score on one judges’ scorecard while the remaining two gave dos Anjos the shutout.
Previously on the fence about continuing his professional career, Felder emerged from this past Saturday’s fight committed to pressing on. The loss to dos Anjos followed a split call setback to Dan Hooker in February that left him uncertain about his future.
In total, 16 fighters received medical suspensions that were longer than the standard seven-day term. UFC Vegas 14 took place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas and aired on ESPN+.
