The matchup was announced by Mayweather and Paul on Sunday with plans to sell the bout as a pay-per-view with escalating prices based on the date of purchase and the total number of sales.
While the bout is being staged as an exhibition, which means no official winner should be declared, the betting odds released by BetOnline.ag are based upon “grading will be based on the WBC (or governing body promoting match) announcement of unofficial winner.”
A similar set of rules were in place for the recent exhibition bout between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., which included three “celebrity” judges scoring remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the end, that bout was declared a draw after eight rounds.
Assuming this matchup doesn’t end the same way, Mayweather will enjoy some of the largest betting odds on his side in combat sports history.

Based on those odds, a bettor would need to wager $5,000 on Mayweather just to win $100 back if he’s victorious. On the flipside, a $100 bet on Paul would return $1,500 if he were somehow able to beat the undefeated former champion.

A lot still has to be determined before this exhibition takes place because Mayweather and Paul were vague with details about the plans for the event including where it would take place, which would then potentially involve a state athletic commission getting involved to approve the bout and the rules.
Considering Tyson vs. Jones raked in over 1.2 million pay-per-view buys for that recent boxing exhibition, it’s no secret why Mayweather and Paul are jumping on this opportunity to face off in a similar exhibition.
Much like his brother Jake Paul, Logan has been competing in “celebrity” boxing matches including a pair of fights against fellow YouTuber KSI. Now he’ll be facing arguably the best boxer in the past 25 years when he takes on Mayweather in February.
As for Mayweather, he retired following a 10th-round TKO against former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor but did return for an exhibition against RIZIN star Tenshin Nasukawa. The exhibition lasted less than a single round after Mayweather knocked Nasukawa down three times before the bout was stopped.
