UFC officials confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Wednesday.
After first making his debut with the promotion back in 2006, Wiman amassed an impressive 10-5 record over 15 fights including wins over opponents such as Mac Danzig, Cole Miller, Thiago Tavares, Justin Buchholz and Isaac Vallie-Flagg.
Following his last win in 2014, Wiman went on a nearly five-year long hiatus from the sport before eventually making his return to action in 2019.
Unfortunately, Wiman never found the same kind of success after his comeback while suffering three consecutive losses in a row.
He fell to Luis Pena and Joe Solecki in consecutive fights and then faced off with Jordan Leavitt at UFC Vegas 16 this past weekend.
The bout came to a violent conclusion after Leavitt slammed Wiman to the ground just 22 seconds into the fight as he knocked out the 37-year-old veteran. Wiman laid motionless on the canvas for several moments after the fight ended before he eventually made his way back to the feet before leaving the octagon on his own power.
Just days later, Wiman has been released with an overall record of 16-10 in his career with a 10-8 mark in the UFC.
