Jared Vanderaa | Zuffa LLC UFC 256 is down a heavyweight bout.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the change that the Sergey Spivak vs. Jared Vanderaa fight scheduled for UFC 256 this Saturday has been removed from the card due to Vanderaa testing positive for COVID-19.
The news was first confirmed by MMA Junkie, following reports on social media that the bout was no longer listed on several official schedules including a release from the UFC on Thursday.
Vanderaa also addressed the positive test on social media.

“My fight is off because I tested positive for COVID,” Vanderaa said. “Nothing wrong with me, I feel fine. My manager and all them are working to do what’s next.”
This was to be Vanderaa’s UFC debut after winning a contract on the Contender Series in November. Spivak has competed twice in 2020, with a decision loss to Marcin Tybura in February and a decision win over Carlos Felipe in July.
