Holland and Souza initially were slated for different opponents. Souza was scheduled to face Marvin Vettori, but Vettori was instead booked against Jack Hermansson at UFC Vegas 17 earlier this month. Hermansson, meanwhile, was supposed to fight Holland, but a positive COVID-19 from Holland prompted the promotion to rebook him against Souza.
Souza, a former Strikeforce champ, comes into the bout on a two-fight skid, while Holland has won his past four.
