Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a bout between Dustin Jacoby and Maxim Grishin will take place at the UFC’s event on Feb. 27. The fight card is expected to take place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Nearly nine years after he parted ways with the UFC following consecutive losses in his first stint with the promotion, Jacoby picked up his first octagon victory at UFC Vegas 12 in October when he finished Justin Ledet in the first round. Jacoby earned a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series this past summer with a unanimous decision win over Ty Flores. The former Glory kickboxer has now won three straight fights.
Like Jacoby, Grishin enters the bout on the heels of his first UFC win. “Maximus” lost a unanimous decision to Marcin Tybura in his octagon debut at UFC 251 but was able to bounce back with a second-round TKO win over Gadzhimurad Antigulov at UFC Fight Island 6 in October.
The UFC’s Feb. 27 event will be headlined by a light heavyweight matchup between Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka.
