Esther Lin, MMA Fighting Jairzinho Rozenstruik on Friday announced his matchup with Ciryl Gane will be moved to UFC Vegas 20, indicating a change in the promotion’s plans for the Feb. 27 event at UFC APEX.
The heavyweight slugger said the fight will be contested over five rounds, the standard length for headlining bouts. Currently, UFC Vegas 20’s announced main event is Dominick Reyes vs. Jiri Prochazka. The UFC didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the status of the light heavyweight bout.
Rozenstruik initially was expected to meet Gane at a UFC event planned for March 13 at a location to be determined.

Rozenstruik and Gane are both on the upswing after beating a common opponent: Junior Dos Santos. Rozenstruik faced off with the ex-champ this past August at UFC 252 and picked up a second-round TKO to bounce back from a knockout loss to Francis Ngannou in his previous appearance. Gane fought Dos Santos this past month at UFC 256 and also earned a second-round stoppage.
In experience, Rozenstruik has the edge with 12 bouts. But in resume, Gane has the edge with an undefeated ledger.
