Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC UFC Vegas 18 featured two MMA legends in the headlining fights, and both suffered devastating setbacks.
In the headliner, multi-title champ Alistair Overeem couldn’t get past the size and strength of Alexander Volkov, who battered him with punches before finishing the fight with a left hand that forced referee intervention at the 2:06 mark of the second round.
Former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar’s dream of capturing a UFC title at bantamweight may have ended with a flying knee thrown by Cory Sandhagen, who sent him stiff to the canvas just 28 seconds into Saturday’s co-main event.
Check out what pros had to say about UFC Vegas 18.
