Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Madge, who was originally scheduled to face Guram Kutateladze, will now face Nasrat Haqparast at the UFC’s event on March 13. Kutateladze was scratched from his scheduled sophomore promotional appearance due to a knee injury.
Twitter user @whereslali was first to report the new booking.
Haqparast is set to makes his sixth UFC appearance and looks to build upon his most recent outing—a unanimous decision win over Alex Munoz at UFC Vegas 6 in August. The 25-year-old also holds octagon victories over Marc Diakiese, Thibault Gouti and Joaquim Silva. Haqparast was scheduled to face Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 257 but was pulled from the matchup during the event’s official weigh-ins due to an illness.
Madge enters the octagon for the first time since his September 2019 win over Fares Ziam at UFC 242. He is currently on a six-fight win streak.
The UFC’s March 13 event will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev.
