Usman and opponent Gilbert Burns successfully made weight at Friday’s official weigh-in for UFC 258, which takes place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday. The champion and challenger both weighed in at 170 on the dot.
With a 13th consecutive win inside the octagon, Usman will break the record for the longest winning streak in UFC welterweight history currently held by Georges St-Pierre.

There was one minor hiccup on the scale as Usman initially weighed in at 170.5 pounds, half a pound over the limit for a welterweight championship bout. However, he wore a sponsored mask on his first attempt and after removing that item as well as his socks, he hit 170 without further issue.
All 24 fighters competing at UFC 258 successfully made weight, including flyweight co-headliners Maycee Barber (126) and Alexa Grasso (125.5), and middleweight standouts Kelvin Gastelum (186) and Ian Heinisch (185.5).
