Aleksandra Albu (pictured) went 2-2 under the UFC banner, including a win over Kailin Curran | Esther Lin, MMA Fighting The UFC roster is nine names short after the departure of several athletes, promotion officials confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report from MMA Junkie.
The list of fighters that got cut by the promotion features Ali Alqaisi, Cyril Asker, Alex Chambers, Chris de la Rocha, Syuri Kondo, Bojan Mihajlovic, Suman Mokhtarian and Dmitriy Sosnovskiy. Aleksandra Albu is also out of the company after completing her four-fight deal.
Albu (3-2) only fought once as a professional prior to her UFC debut in 2015, and defeated Izabela Badurek and Kailin Curran inside the octagon before losing to Emily Whitmire and Loma Lookboonmee in 2019. Chambers (5-5) also holds a win over Curran, her only victory in five UFC appearances.
Alqaisi (8-5), Mihajlovic (10-6) and Mokhtarian (8-2) went winless under the UFC banner, while de la Rocha (5-3) and Kondo (6-3) won one of four each. Asker (9-4) was let go after losing three of five in the eight-sided cage.
Sosnovskiy’s case is a bit different, however. The undefeated fighter improved to 11-0 in the sport with a win over Mark Godbeer in his promotional debut in March 2018, but reportedly was arrested in Moscow on abduction and extortion charges in late 2019.
