Misha Cirkunov | Esther Lin, MMA Fighting Misha Cirkunov vs. Ryan Spann has been re-booked.
The UFC announced Thursday that Cirkunov (15-5) and Spann (18-6) will now meet in a light heavyweight bout on March 13. They were initially scheduled to fight at UFC Vegas 17 this past December, but Cirkunov withdrew from that bout due to an injury.
Cirkunov looks to build on his most recent win, a Peruvian necktie submission of Jimmy Crute at UFC Vancouver in September 2019. He is 3-3 in his past six appearances, with none of those fights making it past the first round.
Spann is coming off of his first loss in the UFC after he was KO’d by Johnny Walker at a UFC APEX show in November. Prior to that loss, Spann ran off four wins inside the octagon against the likes of Sam Alvey and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
Also announced for March 13 is a featherweight bout between Charles Jourdain (10-3-1) and Steve Garcia (11-4).
Jourdain has just one win in his past four appearances, which include a split draw and a split decision loss in 2020. His most recent victory was a second-round TKO of Doo Ho Choi at UFC Busan in December 2019.
Garcia seeks his first UFC win after dropping a decision to Luis Pena in his debut for the promotion. The former Legacy Fighting Alliance standout took the Pena fight on short notice as a replacement for Alex Munoz.
The Jourdain-Garcia matchup was first reported by MMA Empire.
The March 13 UFC event is currently expected to be headlined by a just-reported welterweight bout between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad.
